Product Details

The 430 clutch pressure plate, named after its 430-millimeter friction diameter, is a heavy-duty clutch cover assembly customized for high-horsepower heavy trucks, semi-tractors, large dump trucks and engineering transport vehicles. As a core component of the vehicle’s power transmission system, it works with clutch disc and release bearing to engage or disconnect power between the engine flywheel and gearbox. Unlike small-size clutch pressure plates, this 430 series features a larger friction contact surface and stronger clamping force, which can withstand extreme torque output from high-power engines. It performs stably in harsh operating conditions such as fully loaded climbing, frequent starting and mountain road transportation, and avoids common faults including clutch slipping, friction disc ablation and pressure plate deformation.

Structural Composition

The finished 430 clutch pressure plate assembly integrates five core precision parts: thickened clutch cover, high-temperature resistant cast iron pressure plate, diaphragm spring, drive straps and anti-loose rivets.

The clutch cover is formed by one-piece stamping of thick high-strength steel plates. Its thick wall design improves overall rigidity and prevents thermal deformation under long-time high temperature operation. The working surface of the pressure plate is made of high-density alloy cast iron, polished with ultra-precise flat grinding technology to ensure full and even contact with the clutch disc. The diaphragm spring made of chromium-vanadium spring steel is the core component that provides clamping force, with pull-type and push-type two structural options to match most domestic and European heavy-duty vehicle models. The elastic drive straps connect the cover and pressure plate as a whole, realizing synchronous movement during clutch separation and combination without delay or jamming. All connecting rivets are treated with anti-loosening technology to resist continuous vibration on bumpy roads.

Working Principle

When the driver lifts the clutch pedal, the diaphragm spring restores its original arc and generates uniform axial pressure, clamping the clutch disc tightly between the pressure plate and flywheel. Relying on friction, the engine torque is completely transmitted to the gearbox to drive the vehicle forward. When the clutch pedal is pressed down, the release bearing pushes the finger part of the diaphragm spring, changing the spring’s bending shape and lifting the pressure plate away from the friction disc. At this moment, the power transmission channel is cut off, and the driver can shift gears smoothly without gear collision and abnormal noise. The 430mm wide friction area evenly disperses pressure and heat during power transmission, effectively lowering local temperature and greatly extending the service life of the entire clutch set.

Raw Material & Production Technology

All raw materials meet IATF16949 automotive quality standards. The clutch cover adopts low-alloy structural steel with strong impact resistance; the pressure plate uses wear-resistant cast iron with outstanding thermal stability; the diaphragm spring is made of 51CrV4 spring steel with excellent fatigue resistance.

The standardized production process includes CNC blanking, high-temperature forming, stress relief annealing, surface precision grinding, spring assembly, dynamic balance calibration, electrophoretic anti-rust coating and full-function finished product testing. Diaphragm springs go through shot peening to eliminate internal stress and avoid fatigue fracture after millions of repeated compressions. Multi-layer anti-corrosion coating effectively isolates erosion from rain, mud and road salt spray.

Key Advantages

Great torque bearing capacity, suitable for heavy haulage and high-load transportation without power slipping.

Superior heat dissipation effect, effectively controlling operating temperature and reducing clutch accessory damage rate.

Well-tuned diaphragm spring offers moderate pedal weight, smooth separation and soft engagement for better driving experience.

Reinforced overall structure with strong anti-fatigue performance, cutting vehicle maintenance and replacement costs.

Flexible customization of mounting hole position, overall thickness and spring structure, compatible with Howo, Shacman, FAW, Volvo, Scania and other mainstream heavy-duty brands for OEM matching and aftermarket replacement.

Application Scenarios

The 430 clutch pressure plate is widely installed on container semi-trailers, mining dump trucks, long-distance coaches, heavy agricultural transport vehicles and construction machinery transport trucks. It is a reliable replacement spare part for auto repair factories, logistics fleets and engineering equipment maintenance suppliers, maintaining stable and efficient power transmission under all kinds of severe heavy-duty working environments.
