The 395 clutch pressure plate is a mainstream light and medium-duty clutch cover assembly widely used in commercial vehicle transmission systems. Named after its 395mm standard friction diameter, it is mainly designed for light trucks, medium-duty cargo vehicles, small dump trucks, agricultural transport vehicles and engineering auxiliary vehicles. As the most common and cost-effective clutch specification in the aftermarket, the 395 pressure plate perfectly matches low and medium horsepower engines, focusing on stable power transmission, flexible operation and long service life. Different from 420 and 430 heavy-duty clutch assemblies for ultra-heavy loads, the 395 model features a compact structure, sensitive response and outstanding universality, making it the preferred replacement part for daily urban distribution, rural transportation and light-load highway freight scenarios.
The complete 395 clutch pressure plate assembly consists of a stamped steel clutch cover, precision-machined cast iron pressure plate, high-elasticity diaphragm spring, flexible drive straps and anti-loose rivets. The clutch cover adopts integral thick steel plate stamping and reinforcement treatment, with high overall rigidity to resist deformation and vibration during long-term operation. The pressure plate friction surface is made of high-density wear-resistant cast iron and processed by ultra-fine flat grinding technology, ensuring smooth and even contact with the clutch disc. This precise flatness eliminates partial friction loss, avoids eccentric wear, and maintains stable clamping force during repeated engagement and separation. The built-in diaphragm spring is made of high-quality chromium-vanadium steel, providing stable and consistent elastic pressure. Both push-type and pull-type structures are available to fit Dongfeng, FAW, JMC, Isuzu and most mainstream light and medium truck models.
The working principle of the 395 clutch pressure plate ensures efficient and stable power control. When the clutch pedal is released, the diaphragm spring rebounds to its standard arc shape and generates uniform axial clamping force, tightly pressing the clutch disc between the pressure plate and engine flywheel. Reliable friction torque transmission ensures stable power output for vehicle starting, acceleration and cruising. When the driver depresses the clutch pedal, the release bearing acts on the diaphragm spring fingers, changing the spring’s pressure distribution and lifting the pressure plate away from the friction disc. The power transmission is instantly disconnected, allowing smooth and impact-free gear shifting. With a reasonable 395mm friction area, the assembly balances fast heat dissipation and lightweight structural design, effectively preventing overheating and slipping during frequent start-stop operations.
Manufactured under strict IATF16949 automotive quality standards, the 395 clutch pressure plate adopts high-quality standardized materials. The clutch cover features strong structural steel with excellent vibration resistance, while the pressure plate uses thermally stable alloy cast iron to withstand continuous friction and high temperature. The diaphragm spring is made of 51CrV4 spring steel, treated with quenching, tempering and shot peening to eliminate internal stress, enhance fatigue resistance and prevent elastic attenuation. The whole production process includes precision blanking, hot forming, stress relief annealing, surface grinding, dynamic balance calibration and electrophoretic anti-rust coating, ensuring stable quality and excellent durability for mass aftermarket replacement.
The 395 clutch pressure plate possesses prominent application advantages. It features lightweight and flexible operation with moderate pedal force, bringing comfortable driving experience and sensitive clutch response. Its optimized heat dissipation structure effectively controls operating temperature, greatly reducing common faults such as friction plate burning and clutch slipping under light and medium loads. With a simple and mature structural design, it has extremely low failure rates, convenient installation and excellent interchangeability. Meanwhile, its cost-effective positioning helps fleet owners and repair shops reduce overall vehicle maintenance costs without sacrificing basic transmission performance.
Thanks to strong universality and reliable performance, the 395 clutch pressure plate is widely applicable to light cargo trucks, logistics distribution vehicles, small dumpers, agricultural transport machinery and municipal engineering vehicles. As the most popular general-purpose clutch accessory in the global aftermarket, it provides stable, safe and long-lasting power transmission protection for daily light-load transportation and short-distance logistics operations, maintaining consistent working performance under various conventional road and operating conditions.
