A brake rotor,also known as a brake disc,is a core component of a vehicle’s disc brake system,mounted on the wheel hub and rotating synchronously with the tire.When the driver steps on the brake pedal,brake calipers squeeze brake pads tightly against both sides of the rotor.Friction generated between pads and the rotor converts the vehicle’s kinetic energy into thermal energy,slowing down or stopping the wheel rotation.
