How many leaves of leaf spring are durable for cargo truck?

2026-06-04

The number of leaf spring leaves depends on truck tonnage, load capacity and road conditions:

Light-duty cargo trucks (2–5 tons)

6–8 pieces are the standard durable configuration. Moderate hardness balances driving comfort and daily rated load; extra 1 piece can be added if often overloaded.

Medium-duty trucks (8–15 tons)

9–12 leaves are preferred for long service life. Thicker single leaf plus reasonable piece quantity improves anti-fatigue performance for frequent highway hauling.

Heavy-duty mining / engineering trucks (above 20 tons)

13–18 thickened spring leaves. Thick raw material and more layers resist violent impact on rough mountain and mine roads, effectively avoiding frequent breakage.

Tip: Simply increasing leaf quantity blindly leads to too stiff suspension, poor shock absorption and faster bushing wear. Our factory customizes leaf count, thickness and camber based on clients’ actual loading demands.
